Curriculum for Excellence emphasises the importance of school’s supporting children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing.
The Pupil Wellbeing Questionnaire (PWQ) is an online, animated and interactive tool designed to help schools gain a deeper understanding of the emotional health and wellbeing of their pupils.
The PWQ can be used to help:
-
capture children’s perspectives, attitudes and behaviours linked to social and emotional skills;
-
identify areas of strength and potential development for schools;
-
track and measure the potential impact of whole school approaches undertaken to support the development of social and emotional skills.
The PWQ uses thirty questions to capture attitudes and behaviours in relation to four key areas:
-
self respect and confidence
-
resilience and coping skills
-
empathy and relationships
-
school ethos and culture
These questions also link to the Curriculum For Excellence, Health & Wellbeing Outcomes and Experiences.
The PWQ is available for use with primary school aged children (P3-P7), and costs only £89 for the whole school to complete.
